Transformation of the Electrodynamic Characteristics of the Quarter-Spherical Dielectric Resonator by the Coupling Slot in the Mirror

RÉSUMÉ

It is shown, that the spectral and the power characteristics of the quarter-spherical dielectric resonator as well as distribution of resonant fields of modes depend on position of a coupling slot upon the azimuth coordinate, as opposed to the semispherical dielectric resonator excited on the whispering gallery modes by the coupling slot in a mirror. The existence of the whispering gallery modes is also possible in the quarter-spherical dielectric resonator in the case of one open plane basis. Characteristics of such a dielectric resonator are investigated. It is demonstrated that the quarter-spherical dielectric resonator can form the basis for the combiner in order to summate the powers of more than two Gunn diodes. The mode of mutual synchronization of oscillations of two and three Gunn diodes in the quarter-spherical resonator is investigated.
