Electromagnetic Wave Scattering by Strip Systems with a Variable Fractal Dimension

RÉSUMÉ

Electromagnetic wave scattering from a set of cylindrical strips is considered. The cross-section geometry of the structure may be considered as a certain generation of the CSA (Cantor Set of Arcs)-fractal of variable fractal dimension. In the case of an E-polarized wave, first-kind singular integral equations have been derived which are convenient both for application of the mechanical quadratures method and for transformation to second-kind equations through the Vekua-Carleman regularization procedure. In addition to the general dynamic model of the scatterer, a quasi-static model is suggested which permits a simple explicit form of the solution. The scattered far field is computed numerically.
