DETECTION OF OBJECT MOTIONS CONCEALED BEHIND FOLIAGE OF BUSHES AND TREES USING ENTROPY OF THE PHASE STRUCTURE OF RADAR SIGNALS

RÉSUMÉ

The paper presents result of analyzing the possibility of detecting weak motions of targets (humans and objects) concealed behind foliage of bushes and trees using a radar with stepped variation of the carrier frequency within the range 1200 to 1800 MHz. The basic method of signal processing is suggested to be entropy-weighted phase fluctuations of the reflected signal in the range channels. It is shown that the use of this weighting procedure makes it possible to essentially improve observability and detectability of slow-moving objects disguised by a foliage of bushes and trees.
