RÉSUMÉ

The generalized integral transform technique (GITT) is employed to simulate the two-dimensional contaminant transport in a multilayer subsurface system. Two layers are considered. In the first one the unsaturated zone is treated as a saturated soil; the second layer is supposed to be a groundwater pathway. The flow field is taken as known. The concentration source is assumed to be located at the top of the system, and two types of boundary conditions are investigated: constant- and time-dependent flux injection. The 2-D hybrid numerical-analytical proposed solution obtained through GITT is graphically presented.
