RÉSUMÉ
Comparison of original data on the blue-green periphyton algae of the cooling pond of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station until and after the accident made it possible to found essential differences in the structure of algae communities with the dominance of Cyanophyta. Significant changes were registered in the complex of subdominant species. The role of Cyanophyta belonging to facultative thermophils decreased abruptly. The species composition of blue-green algae and their taxonomic structure at the level of the leading families and genera changed. After the accident, the number of species of Cyanophyta in the cooling pond sharply decreased from 84 to 43.
