Alkaloids of Nuphar lutea (L.) Smith. and their Influence on the Vital Activity of Cyanobacteria and Algae
RÉSUMÉ
Nuphar lutea (L.) Smith. is the most typical representative of higher aquatic plants capable of producing metabolites of alkaloid nature. In the rhizome of N. lutea, the contribution of these substances to the absolutely dry mass of the plant was 2.7%. Some amount of these biologically active substances is excreted into the aquatic environment. Alkaloids in association with other exogenous metabolites are capable of inhibiting the development of Cyanobacteria and other representatives of Procaryota. They influence the formation of specific algal and bacterial communities. The method of chromato-mass-spectrometry made it possible to establish that the complex of biologically active substances isolated from the rhizome of N. lutea consists of 14 components. In this case, 6 of them belong to alkaloids. Their contribution to the total mass of the substance was 41.97%. Results of experimental studies of the influence of alkaloids of N. lutea on the nitrate reductase activity of Cyanobacteria and algae are presented.
