VOLTAMMETRIC DETECTION OF FERRICYANIDE USING ORGANICALLY MODIFIED MCM-41
RÉSUMÉ
Aminopropyl-grafted MCM-41 was prepared and characterized with the x-ray diffraction (XRD) method. Then this material was used for preparation of a modified carbon paste electrode. Results show that protonation of amine groups of this modified carbon paste electrode in acidic solution increased the absorbance of ferricyanide to the electrode surface. We used this electrode for open circuit accumulation and voltammetric determination of ferricyanide in aqueous solution, and investigate factors affecting the magnitude of the analytical signal. Under optimum conditions this electrode was successfully used for detection of ferricyanide as an anionic electroactive species and a linear response in the concentration range of 2×10−7 − 1×10−5 M was observed. The detection limit (3σ) was determined as 6×10−8 M.
