RÉSUMÉ

In this study the non-Darcian mixed-convection process from a horizontal plate in a nanofluid-saturated porous medium under the influence of transverse magnetic field has been mathematically modeled and solved numerically by the finite difference method. The coupled nonlinear partial differential equations governing the convection process have been transformed into a set of two ordinary equations using boundary layer approximations and similarity variables. Results obtained by the present study are compared with those from literature and are found to be in excellent agreement. Further, the results are analyzed for the heat transfer from the plate. The dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are presented in the form of xy plots for inferring the salient features in the current mixed-convection process.
