DOUBLE-DIFFUSIVE NATURAL CONVECTION IN A NON-DARCY POROUS CAVITY FILLED WITH NANOFLUID UNDER THE EFFECTS OF CHEMICAL REACTION

RÉSUMÉ

Double-diffusive natural convection in a non-Darcy porous cavity filled with nanofluid under the effects of chemical reaction was solved numerically using a simple algorithm in the finite volume method. We studied the effects of the various thermophysical and nanoparticle parameters on the heat and mass transfer, nanoparticle volume fraction, and fluid flow in different flow regimes. The results are introduced with flow configurations, isotherms, concentration, nanoparticle volume fraction lines, and local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers for different values of Darcy number from 10-6 to 10-2, Rayleigh number from 103 to 106, Soret number with modified Dufour number, chemical reaction parameter, and nanoparticle parameters. The flow pattern, nanoparticle volume fraction, and rate of heat and mass transfer inside the cavity are affected by these parameters. The current numerical results are well validated and have favorable comparisons with previously published results.
