Enhancement of Convectional Heat Transfer due to Bubbles Rising
RÉSUMÉ
This present paper describes the characteristics of heat transfer due to bubbles passing through vertical channels of various configurations. The hydrodynamics of bubbles motion is discussed. The shapes, velocities and vortex formation by bubbles rising in liquid are analyzed. The maximum rise velocity is given by a bubble chain passing through a submerged rectangular channel having a small cross section. The effect of bubble frequency and liquid velocity on conventional heat transfer is examined. The influence of channel cross section area on heat transfer enhancement is studied as a function of heat flux. The geometry and flow conditions leading to maximum conventional heat transfer are discussed.
