Research on Twisted Strip with Asymmetric Oblique Teeth
RÉSUMÉ
An improvement is made on the previously engineered smooth twisted plastic strip technology to enlarge the usually small self-rotating force moment of the plastic strip. Oblique teeth are added to both surfaces of the smooth twisted plastic strip asymmetrically at equal intervals. This increases the total force moment by 75 ~ 101%. Furthermore, the heat transfer coefficient is raised by 186% on average because strong vortices are induced behind the teeth. Although the coefficient of flow resistance is high, the flow velocity is low, and the overall flow resistance is still in the acceptable range for industrial usage.
