3D SHOCK/TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER INTERACTION ON THE PLATE NEAR A WEDGE IN PRESENCE OF AN ENTROPY LAYER
RÉSUMÉ
The effect of an entropy layer generated by a blunt leading edge of a plate on the gas flow in the vicinity of a wedge fixed on the plate is investigated experimentally and numerically at the turbulent boundary layer in front of the wedge. Experiments are carried out at Mach numbers equal to M∞ = 5 (Re∞L = 27 × 106) and M∞ = 6 (Re∞L = 19 × 106) using fluorescent coatings and discrete thermocouple sensors. Distributions of heat transfer and pressure coefficients are examined; shear stress distribution and limit streamlines are visualized in the interference zone. The effect of the plate bluntness radius on the maximum values of heat transfer and pressure coefficients in the vicinity of the wedge is specified.
