Quality of Life of Patients with Musculoskeletal Disorders in a Greek Hospital
RÉSUMÉ
The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of life of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The study was conducted at a Greek Hospital during morning and afternoon patient visits to outpatient orthopaedic clinics. Of 400 patients, 205 were examined at morning clinics, and 202 were examined at afternoon clinics. Demographic data including age, gender, marital status, race, work status, educational level, and insurance status (private or public) of the patients were collected. The quality of life was estimated using the Greek version of the EQ-5D questionnaire and the EuroQOL thermometer. The results indicate that decreased mobility, the presence of pain/discomfort, and anxiety/depression were important predictors of quality of life.
