RÉSUMÉ
Approximately 100 fungal samples of the sporophores of higher Basidiomycetes and Ascomycetes were collected from summer, 1999, to spring, 2000, mainly from the state of Mississippi, USA. Fungal material was subjected to lyophilization and extraction, and thus provided crude extracts that were screened for anticancer, antimalarial, antimicrobial, and immunostimulatory activity. Screening revealed several biologically active extracts: five showed anticancer activity, five showed antimalarial activity, seven showed antimicrobial activity, and 24 showed immunostimulatory activity.
