RÉSUMÉ
The interaction of vortex and wave perturbations with the near-wall gradient flow has been studied based on the solution of the linearized Navier-Stokes equation. It is shown that the boundary layer is characterized by selective susceptibility to the type of perturbation, its magnitude and the propagation velocity with respect to the main flow field, and also to the site of the perturbation generation.
