In the present paper, we apply numerical modeling for evaluating workability of vertical electric antenna having unusual design. The antenna must receive radio signals of extremely low frequency (ELF) band in to the vertical electric field component of electromagnetic wave propagating in the spherical cavity formed by surface of the Earth and the lower ionosphere at frequencies of global electromagnetic (Schumann) resonance, which occupies the 4−40 Hz range. The field sensor consists of two vertically separated electrodes fixed at a tree trunk. Such a "tree" antenna is able to serve as an efficient ELF field sensor, especially in the fair weather condition. We also formulate the demands to antenna pre-amplifier of the tree antenna.
