The heavier fluid, initially filling a rectangular box, is pushed out through an exit at the bottom by the lighter fluid injecting into the box through the entrance at the top. The test is to simulate the development of the interface between phases. The purpose of this proposal is to test the ability of computer codes to preserve sharp interfaces, because the flow phenomena depend critically on the flow rate (Froude number) and on the aspect ratio of the box. %8 1987-11-01
