In the present work, a model for steady fluid flow and heat transfer during evaporation of a film falling down a grooved wall is developed, which shows that the phenomena in the micro region lead to an increase of the overall heat transfer rate at the constant fluid flow rate. A stability analysis is performed showing that longitudinal grooves have a stabilizing effect on the falling film flow.
