T1 Resistance of Gammarids Pontogammarus robustoides and Chaetogammarus ischnus (Crustacea: Amphipoda) to Elevation of Temperature of the Aquatic Medium JF Hydrobiological Journal JO HYD YR 2014 FD 2014-05-28 VO 50 IS 3 SP 55 OP 63 K1 resistance K1 gammarids K1 temperature K1 adaptation K1 tolerance AB Temperature resistance of the laboratory and natural populations of Pontogammarus robustoides (Sars, 1894) and Chaetogammarus ischnus (Stebbing, 1898) to increased temperatures of the aquatic medium was studied. Thermostability degree was estimated at static and dynamic impact. In both modes P. robustoides was revealed to be more resistant than Ch. Ischnus. Peculiarities of the gammarids' thermostability changes depending on preceding temperature were shown. During prolong adaptation to the narrow range of elevated temperatures (19−25°C) thermostability of Ch. Ischnus increased; adaptation abilities of P. robustoides decreased at the static impact of extreme temperatures. Intraspecific differentiation of individuals by thermostability degree and adaptation ability was shown.
