Two different series of experimental runs, relative to Rll and R113 respectively, have been carried out under vapour velocity ranging from 2 to 30 m/s.
Present experimental data show a heat transfer enhancement due to vapour shear stress: at the highest vapour velocity there is a 50% increase in the heat transfer coefficient with respect to values measured during condensation of stagnant vapour. The enhancement starts to be evident when the vapour Reynolds number is greater than 100000. Present experimental data are compared with the most recent theoretical models: at almost stationary conditions data are very well reproduced by Honda et al. [1987a, 1987b] model, with a mean percentage deviation around 8%. PB Begell House LK https://www.dl.begellhouse.com/journals/4c8f5faa331b09ea,33376bd348754c84,677ebaf173841f83.html
