AB Resistance rate of three mobile algae species of the genus Chlamydomonas (Chlorophyta) - Ch. reinhardtii, Ch. aculeata, Ch. pitschmannii to the presence of the most toxic six-valency chromium (taking K2Cr2O7 as an example) was estimated using the method combination (microscopic analysis, spectrophotometry and laser-Doppler spectrometry). Protective mechanisms of the algae cells providing their surviving under the unfavorable effect of the chemical factors of the aquatic environment have been discussed. Among protective responses of the studied algae the following should be noted: appearance of the big toxic-resistant cells in suspension, rise of velocity and energy inputs to the cells movement, as well as formation of the oil drops in the cells.
