The reacting gas mixture consisted of nitrous oxide (5% by vol.) and oxygen. The catalysts tested were ferric, zirconium, copper, nickel or manganese oxides deposited on g-Al2O3. The overall degree of decomposition of N2O (to N2 and NO) and oxidation to nitric oxide depended on the kind of catalyst used. The activity of the catalysts in N2O decomposition (to N2 and NO) decreased in the order: CuO > Fe2O3 > NiO > MnO2 > Co3O4 > ZrO2. The effect of the catalysts on the degree of N2O conversion to NO was very small. Keywords: decomposition, oxidation, nitrous oxide, plasma, gliding discharge %8 2001-09-01
