Scaling Analysis of Nanofluid Flowing Inside a Circular Micro Channel
RÉSUMÉ
This work is done to find out the influence of slip mechanisms (drag force, rotational force, gravity force, thermophoresis force Brownian force, Saffman's lift force, Magnus force) on different nanofluids. Nanofluid flowing inside a concentric circular microchannel at constant heat flux has been considered. In this work, Lagrangian-Eulerian model (discrete phase model) was utilized. The role of nanoparticle slip mechanisms in Alumina − water nanofluid has been analysed for various parameters, which includes the size, shape, and concentration of the nanoparticles. The resultant effect of these forces produces a relative velocity between the base fluid and particles. It has been observed that this relative velocity plays a very vital role in slip mechanism. It has been shown that the drag force is the largest and Brownian and thermophoresis forces are the smallest for all cases (1) larger particle size and (2) higher concentration (3) cylindrical particle with same effective diameter.
