In this paper the experimental research of the film dryout in a minichannel (din =1.15 and 2.3 mm) with the use of thermovisual technique is presented. The phenomenon of dryout is clearly seen. It takes place over some distance with respect to applied heat flux and mass flow rate. A very interesting phenomenon, which lacks definite explanation at the moment, has been detected in case of dryout in a 1.15 mm tube. In that case following the dryout location the reduction of wall temperature to the level before the dryout is observed. The technique seems to be promising in examination of that phenomenon.
