RÉSUMÉ

The paper presents the experimental stand, methodology and initial results of research of the spreading process of toluene droplets obtained for two values of surface initial temperature (60°C and 90°C). Toluene droplets with equal volumes were dropped from various heights between the dropper and the heater surface. The heights were changed in the range of 0,02−1,5 m. The results were elaborated in the shape of a diagram of changes of the wetting coefficient in the function of Weber number. It was stated that the initial surface temperature influenced meaningfully the value of critical Weber number. For the lower one of temperatures under research, droplet retained its resilience in the whole range of Weber number changes. On the other hand, for the higher temperature value, droplet was fragmented already at the height between the dropper ending and the surface amounting 0,4 m. The research results were then applied in the analysis of conditions present for the appearance of droplet structure on the heated surface.
