RÉSUMÉ
This study conducts Large Eddy Simulation (LES) of spatially developing thermally stratified turbulent boundary layer over uniformly arrayed roughness elements. The bottom surface covered by rectangular blocks is heated or cooled to express thermal condition of rough wall. In this paper, the inflow turbulence is generated by using the quasi periodic condition for rough-wall turbulent boundary layer, and later the buoyancy effect is introduced in order to simulate a spatially-developing thermally stratified turbulent boundary layer. The heat transfer performance is discussed in relation to wall turbulence over rough surface.
