Combustion process in gas turbine combustion chamber is a complex process with number of variables effecting its design performance. The heat flux on combustion chamber wall is an integral parameter reflecting the changes of combustion process in the chamber. The heat flux change in space and time is a result of the parameters effecting combustion process. In this respect, there are those changes that may lead to the fault of the system. The diagnostic of those situations is of great importance for the efficiency and reliability of the gas turbine system. In particular, mal function of the gas turbine combustion chamber is affected by instability of the flame and its distortion due to burner mal function.
Diagnostic strategy will be organised to recognise a following main operational situation:

  1. Diagnostic pulsating regimes in combustion chamber (vibration combustion)
  2. Control and diagnostic of low-toxic combustion chamber with outlet NOX<50 mg.
  3. Diagnostic of low-toxic combustion chamber operation with temperature level up to 1500−1700 K.
  4. Monitoring of reliable combustion at variable regimes of combustion chamber operation
  5. Assessment of lifetime of combustion chamber and first row of gas turbine blades
The concept of gas turbine chamber diagnostic system is based on the monitoring of heat flux space and time distribution in combustion chamber and comparing respective reading of diagnostic variables with values obtained by the numerical model simulation of different situations which are leading to the mal function of combustion chamber performance.
