RÉSUMÉ
The results obtained from the simulation of turbulent heat transfer in Rayleigh-Benard Convection using an implicit, non-dissipative, low-Mach number, variable-density Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) algorithm are presented. It is shown that the low-Mach number, variable-density approach performs sufficiently well to produce the evolution of instabilities from laminar to turbulence via transitional regime under the effect of thermal and buoyancy forces and the correct scaling properties of turbulent heat transfer without Boussinesq assumption.
