RÉSUMÉ

Nowadays, there exist a number of methods for synthesizing turbulent velocity fluctuations at the inlet boundaries of LES, DNS or hybrid simulations. Though, most of methods do not address the generation of associated fluctuations of scalar quantities at these boundaries. The current work presents an extension of the turbulent spot method to produce scalar fluctuations. The implementation is applied to a turbulent channel flow with scalar transport. The results illustrate the importance of including the scalar fluctuations in the turbulence synthesis process. There was also a dependence of the adaption distance on the type of turbulent structure observed. With anisotropic Vortons (L), the adaption needed the least distance.
