Résumé

Optical computed tomography is a medical imaging modality in which red and near infra red light is used to probe biological tissues. Images are obtained by mapping the absorption coefficient of the tissue. Because the absorption coefficient depends on the oxygenation state of the tissue as well as the tissue type, these images are expected to provide information regarding the functional status of the tissue in addition to information regarding its composition. Realization of clinically viable optical computed tomography depends on the development of reliable and fast methods of obtaining inverse solutions of the radiative transfer equation. In this paper we use a linearization and regularization technique and a finite element method to invert the diffusion approximation of the radiative transfer equation. We compare the performance of three different regularization methods, and we propose the use of the zooming method as a way to improve the resolution of the images.
