High performance fully compressible scheme for atmospheric flows over real urban area

Résumé

High performance scheme for simulating compressible flows is applied to atmospheric boundary layer and the characteristics are investigated in idealized case of urban field. The results show that heat fluxes vary depending on building arrangements and especially, treatment of atmosphere either incompressible or compressible. From the results, compressible treatment is proved to be required even in the urban scale. Finally, the scheme is adopted into the real urban field and the efficiency is confirmed comparing the performances of existing schemes used in meteorology. The result implies that long-term integration with high resolution is considered to be possible using the present scheme.
