RÉSUMÉ

A chemistry tabulation approach combined to a low-Mach number method is applied in the analysis of a stratified propane-air flame studied experimentally by Balusamy [10]. In the framework of the low-Mach number assumption, a methodology to treat the pressure increase in a closed vessel is given so that propane-air mixture injection and stratification can be modeled. Numerical results are found to reproduce experimental data well for both mean and instantaneous fields of velocity and equivalence ratio. In a second part of the paper, flame front propagation is analyzed thanks to an accurate method for the flame speed measurement. These numerical measurements are in good accordance with those given by a 1D detailed chemistry code in the portions of the flame where curvature effects may be neglected.
