RÉSUMÉ
Fouling and its consequences play a decisive role in the designing process of a heat exchanger. In this paper the applicability of numerical simulations with focus on particle fouling over dimpled surfaces was investigated. Numerical method have been validated with respect to both the flow parameters and particle motion. Influence of turbulence modelling within URANS and LES on fouling is studied. Investigations have been performed for two riblet structures and a dimpled surface with different fouling matters. The results show that the results for deposition rate depend strongly on the geometry of heat exchanger and the particle density.
