Résumé

Direct numerical simulation of turbulent channel flow with a compliant surface is made to evaluate the drag reduction effect. It is found that a slight drag reduction is observed with compliant surface. From this fact, it is shown that the drag reduction is possible by a compliant surface which is deformed passively by wall pressure fluctuation. Small wall displacement and velocity are observed in the present study, however, large scale of pressure field becomes dominant. The typical shape of the displacement of the compliant surface is a wave which is almost homogeneous in the spanwise direction.
