RÉSUMÉ
Direct Numerical Simulations of compressible binary free shear layers with high density ratio (such as H2/O2) are performed using a physically/numerically optimized solver. Reduction of early acoustic waves is achieved through temporal self-similar initial conditions. Spatial distribution and temporal evolution of subgrid terms emerging from the L.E.S. formalism are produced by a posteriori filtering of the D.N.S. database.
