RÉSUMÉ
The design of heat transfer systems involving boiling two-phase flow is significantly governed by critical heat flux (CHF). CHF denotes the maximum flux that can be safely (or most efficiently) removed from process equipment in a boiling system. This chapter gives an overview of the boiling heat transfer process and the mechanisms that lead to CHF in different two-phase flow regimes.
