As a result of long-term investigations, it has been found that phytoepiphyton communities of the same type belonging to the association Cocconeo pediculi-Diatometum vulgaris are formed in all the reservoirs of the Dnieper cascade in the fouling of green filamentous algae (mainly on Cladophora glomerata (L.) Kütz.). It is likely that this phenomenon is determined by the similarity of the conditions of their occurrence.

Trophic spectra of three mass demersal fishes - the shore rockling, black scorpionfish and round goby - in the coastal zone of the Zmeiniy Island over 2003-2009 were presented. Indexes of relative importance, selectivity and filling of intestine were determined. It was revealed that intensity of feeding of all three species increased after their spawning. Trophic spectra of the shore rockling and scorpion fish have overlapped because of consuming of mass crustaceans. Strength of food relations between mass species of fishes of deep water area of the island decreased due to differences in quantity and peculiarities of distribution of fishes and their feeding objects.

The main principles of modern sanitary hydrobiology are discussed in the paper. The main tasks of sanitary-hydrobiological characteristics of aquatic ecosystems in terms of microphytobenthos and methodology of synbioindication in terms of benthic algae cenoses and their structural elements are presented. In addition, the paper is dealt with the study of the role of microphytobenthos in the formation of the environmental conditions of the occurrence of hydrobionts and water quality.

lipid peroxidation.
Oil products (by example of gasoline) were shown to change intensity of the lipid peroxidation (LPO) in the algae cells. Under the impact of 5 MPCf (maximal permissible concentration for fishery), content of the LPO products to the most extent decreased in planktonic Cyanophyta. Growth of the LPO products content in the algae cells was supported by decrease of the chlorophyll a content in a volume unit of the cultural medium. Significant growth of the LPO content in the considered periphytic Cyanophyta was not registered. Green algae (Chlorophyta) were found to be the most resistant to gasoline.
