The influence of current velocity and nutrients content on the structural and functional organization of phytoepiphyton of the Dnieper reservoirs has been analyzed in the paper. It has been shown that a decrease in current velocity is
accompanied by changes in the species composition of epiphytic algae, and also by the increase in their biomass. Relationship was established between the functional characteristics of phytoepiphyton and nutrients content.

Lake Baikal
The species composition of phytoplankton and quantitative indices of its development were studied in the littoral zone of Lake Baikal in 2000−2015. It has been shown that in recent years the numbers of small-sized species of the genus
Chlamydomonas, including Ch. komma, sharply increased (up to 7 million cells/L). In 1975−1990, these algae were not registered in plankton. Their individual specimens were found in the early 2000s. Other indicators of organic contamination represented by Euglenophyta also occurred in abundance (4−7 thousand cells/L). Previously only their individual specimens were observed in Lake Baikal. Filamentous algae of the genus Spirogyra were abundant near the Kultuk village and near the towns of Slyudyanka, Baikalsk, Severobaikalsk, and others. In this section in spring 2013, algae of the "Baikal complex" belonging to endemic organisms (Aulacoseira baicalensis (K. Meyer) Sim., Cyclotella baicalensis Skv., Stephanodiscus meyeri Genkal et Popovsk., and also spore forming A. islandica (O. Müll.) Sim.) were not found at all. Structural changes in phytoplankton and a predominance of small-sized species are indicative of the process of eutrophication of the littoral zone of the lake.

Phenotypic variability of the bivalve mollusk Anadara kagoshimensis (Tokunaga, 1906) was investigated. Significant differences of morphometric indexes of the shells between populations from different parts of the western, north-western, north-eastern shelf of the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait were noted. Effects of the habitat depth, character of bottom sediment and salinity on the shell shape were estimated.

Production indices of higher aquatic plants (phytomass of the main communities, phytomass storage per unit area of thickets, and annual production) were investigated in the section of the Vorskla River near the town of Poltava. The degree of landscape urbanization was quantitatively assessed in terms of its influence on the river. It has been shown that the sections with a high degree of landscape urbanization were characterized by essential fluctuations in
macrophytes production conditioned by structural transformations in their communities.

The paper presents results of statistical processing of data of the background hydrochemical monitoring of the Prut River within the Carpathian National Nature Park. Dependence was established of the water quality parameters on the
altitude and distance from the river source. It was proposed to use the statistical formulas for rationing of the anthropogenic load on the main channel of the Prut
River and its tributaries within the upper part of the basin.

Actual characteristics of macrozoobenthos of the Sasyk reservoir by materials of 2013−2014 were determined. Taxonomic composition, numbers and biomass of macrozoobenthos of different ecological zones of the reservoir in the
seasonal and interannual aspect were considered. Production of the main groups of forage macrozoobenthos was assessed.

bactericidic properties
Bactericidic properties of peloids under the benthic algal vegetations in hyperhalinå water bodies in the north-west coast of the Sea of Azov (Ukraine) were investigated: in the Berdyansk Spit near the Krasnoye Lake and in the Arabat spit near the Zyablovs'ke Lake. It was established that bactericidic properties of peloids under the macroscopic growths of green alga Cladophora siwaschensis and Cyanoprokaryota Lyngbya aestuarii are different. It was shown that peloids under Cyanoprokaryota possess bactericidic properties regarding the gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, and under the green algae − only gram-positive organisms.

Allelopathic interaction between green algae was studied on the example of the cultures of 12 their species. It has been found that under conditions of mixed cultures or after the addition of cultural filtrates biochemical composition of
algae essentially changed. In this case, the content of proteins either increased or decreased, the content of lipids mainly decreased, whereas the amount of carbohydrates increased.

Paper deals with results of parasitological research of ichthyological collections of the Institute of Hydrobiology NAS of Ukraine (1989) in the Kakhovka Reservoir (the Dnieper River), where plerocercoids of cestode Ligula
pavlovskii Dubinina − the parasite of gobies of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov were revealed for the first time in the freshwater ecosystems of Ukraine. The host
fishes are monkey goby (Neogobius fluviatilis) and round goby (Neogobius melanostomus). The peculiarities of spatial distribution of infected fishes in the water area of the Kakhovka reservoir and regularities of invasion parameters by plerocercoids Ligula pavlovskii depending on the host species and size of the hosts are described.
