The species composition of fish fauna and quantitative indices of its development were investigated in several small rivers of Kiev differing in the degree of anthropogenic load. They included the Lybid', Syrets, and Nivka rivers. It has been found that changes in hydrological regime conditioned by anthropogenic transformation of the riverbed are of considerable importance in the formation of the species composition and ecological characteristics of fish fauna. It has been shown that changes in hydrological regime of small rivers of urban territories result in the decrease in the number of species, and also in the
substitution of litho-rheophilous fish complex for phyto-limnophilous one.

Paper deals with results of studies of spatial distribution of zooplankton and its heterogeneity in technoecosystem of the Khmelnytsk NPP. Zooplankton of the cooling pond of the Khmelnytsk NPP was shown to be rich in species and on
the whole typical for the region. The heterogeneity of the structure and abundance of zooplankton is expressed at different levels: the whole technoecosystem, cooling pond, inlet and outlet channels and sites, within the depth of the individual sites. Zooplankton irregularities are also affected by the hydrodynamic processes associated with the technogeneous water circulations and wind flow, as well as differences in conditions between the cooling pond,
inlet and outlet channels, littoral and pelagial, zooplankton income from the feeding rivers of the cooling pond.

Data on the species composition, taxonomic structure, and quantitative indices of epiphytic algae development, and also on the peculiarities of their distribution on higher aquatic plants of various ecological groups occurring in
the main riverbed of the river section of the Kanev Reservoir, have been generalized for the first time. A total of 179 algal species represented by 190 infraspecific taxa, including those containing nomenclatural types of species,
was found in the studied section of the reservoir. Bacillariophyta and Chlorophyta were represented by the largest number of species. It has been found that the distribution of epiphytic algae species over the plants belonging to various ecological groups was irregular. On submerged plants, the number of algal species was 1.3 times higher than that on half-submerged plants and 1.7 times higher than that on plants with floating leaves. The quantitative indices of epiphyton development on higher aquatic plants of various ecological groups also significantly varied. The average numbers and biomass of epiphyton on submerged plants were one order of magnitude higher than those on half-submerged and two orders of magnitude higher than those on plants with floating leaves.

structural indices
Structural indices of zooplankton of the Sasyk liman were compared to those of the Sasyk Reservoir. It has been found that water salinity and organic matter content are of considerable importance in the formation of zooplankton structure in the reservoir. Analysis of long-term changes in zooplankton structure made it possible to reveal three stages of its development in the reservoir.

The physiological and biochemical status and characteristics of fishes of different taxonomic groups under the impact of elevated water temperature have been investigated. Perch and carp differently responded to the thermal factor at
biochemical level. As temperature rises, the hormones level in perch remained almost the same, in carp it changed. Activity of the energy metabolism enzymes in perch showed deceleration of catabolism in tissues, this was also confirmed by glucose content. In carp such changes caused activation of catabolic reactions. Dependence was revealed of the energy metabolism reactions in both fish species on oscillatory elevations of water temperature. The obtained results regarding changes of biochemical parameters in carp and perch indicated species specificity of their response to untypical changes of thermal conditions.

Forming of the absorbed dose rate in Typha angustifolia L. and Glyceria maxima (C. Gartm.) from radiation of 137Cs was studied. The dependence between absorbed dose rate and the depth of plant growth was found. Dose rate in roots of Glyceria maxima was found to be 4–7 times higher than in above-ground organs, in roots of Typha angustifolia – 9–32 times higher. Portion of the above-ground organs of Glyceria maxima in forming of dose rate was 25–59%, of Typha angustifolia – 8–12%, the roots of the considered species – 19–48%. Portion of external irradiation in forming of total dose rate in Typha angustifolia did not exceed 15%.

Trends in changes in the total solar radiation and water temperature in the Rybinsk reservoir have been analyzed on the basis of the long-term observations (1954–2013) carried out by the Rybinsk Hydrometeorological Observatory.
Direct correlation was established between water temperature and solar radiation over the vegetation period and indirect correlation – between radiation and amount of precipitation on the water area of the reservoir. It was shown that
water temperature is affected not only by solar radiation and air temperature, but by the water content of the year as well.

It was shown that the main factor of destructive transformation of Kuyalnyk liman hydroecosystem is general draining of its catchment, caused by aridity of the climate and water management activities. Possible ways of ecosystem stabilization is restoration of the natural runoff of rivers and replenishment by water from the Odessa Bay of the Black Sea.

the Kiev Reservoir
Long-term dynamics of hydrochemical indices in the Kiev Reservoir were investigated. They included dissolved solids content, the concentration of the main ions and inorganic forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, and organic matter
content in terms of dichromate and permanganate oxidizability. It has been found that at the present time in the water of the reservoir the content of inorganic
nitrogen (especially of nitrate) and N : P ratio decrease. Comparative analysis of the obtained results and literature data has shown that at the present time phosphorus does not limit the development of primary producers.
