Paper deals with adaptive reactions of Gammaridae populations (Pontogammarus robustoides (Sars, 1894), Echinogammarus ischnus (Stebbing, 1899), Dikerogammarus villosus (Sowinsky, 1894), Dikerogammarus haemobaphes (Eichwald, 1841)) in the coastal shallow zone of the Kyiv reservoir at different water temperature. Animals avoid sections with water temperature above 28°C. The prolong impact of critical temperature result in mass migration to the sections with more comfortable conditions (deeper sections, trees' roots in the splash zone), in decrease of the reproduction intensity or even stop of reproduction. At gammarids migration to the deeper sections to the mollusks' cenoses (depth > 0.8 m) dominated species of the gen. Dikerogammarus (D. villosus, D. haemobaphes), at this prevailed specimens of the middle and elder size-age groups, whereas within the trees' roots in the splash zone gammarids are distributed unevenly, with alternative domination of P. robustoides, D. villosus and E. ischnus. The long-term effect of the thermal abnormalities consists in significant annual fluctuations of gammarids numbers in the shallow zone of the Kyiv reservoir.

the Oleksandriya Dendrological Park
Data on the distribution of phytoplankton in the ponds of the Oleksandriya Dendrological Park significantly differing in the content of inorganic compounds of nitrogen and phosphorus, and also in the content of chloride and organic matter in the water, are given in the paper. It has been found that the species richness, taxonomic structure, species composition, and complex of dominant species of phytoplankton, and also the quantitative indices of its development, in the studied ponds significantly differed. The maximal values of cell numbers were one order, whereas those of biomass - two orders of magnitude higher than their minimal values. The average value of the Sorensen coefficient of community similarity was 32%. Non-uniform distribution of phytoplankton in the studied ponds was conditioned by significant difference in the chemical composition of the water incoming into the ponds from different sources, including heavily polluted soil waters and springs with clean drinking water from deep water-bearing layers.

The structure and diversity of the autotrophic link of the Kardashyn liman of the Dnieper-Bug estuary and the distribution of energy fluxes in this water body are discussed in the paper. The role of phytoplankton, higher aquatic plants, and phytoepiphyton in the biotic balance of two subsystems, including the natural Kardashyn liman and the artificial sand quarry, were analyzed. The liman and sand quarry significantly differ in the complex of ecological factors, including their morphological and hydrochemical characteristics, and also temperature and light conditions, which influences the autotrophic link of each subsystem. In the liman, the communities of algae and higher aquatic plants are more diverse in their species composition than those in the sand quarry. Phytoplankton and higher aquatic plants prevail in the biotic balance of the liman, whereas phytoplankton − in the biotic balance of the sand quarry.

the Kiliya delta of the Danube River
On the whole, 17 species of macroinvertebrates of alien faunistic complexes subdivided into the denizen (11) and occasional (6) species-invaders were found in the Kiliya delta of the Danube River during 100 years of investigations. It has been found that in recent decades the number of species-invaders increased by a factor of 2.4 primarily at the expense of the development of representatives of the Sino-Indian faunistic complex, which can be considered as the consequence of climatic changes in the region. The first species-invaders were registered in the front part of the delta - in the zone with a high dynamics of hydrochemical, hydrological, and hydromorphological processes resulting in the formation of free ecological niches.

Dynamics of the development of the invasive crustacean Stenocypris sp. (Ostracoda) was studied in different sections of the cooling pond of the Tyumen Thermal Power Station-1 − in the place of heated water release with the maximal temperature of water and in the zone with moderate heating. It has been found that the type of substrate did not influence the development of Ostracoda. The study of the dynamics of Stenocypris sp. development in periphyton in summer and autumn 2016 has shown that the increased water temperature (to 39.4°C) favored its development, which was accompanied by the increase in the quantitative indices of this species. It has been found that current velocity did not limit the development of this species of Ostracoda.

The article deals with some fundamental issues of sanitary and technical hydrobiology regarding assessment of the ecological and technical state of the human-dependent and anthropogenic (technogenic) ecosystems. The issues of application of the integrated methods for assessment of the ecological potential of the water bodies and the aquatic environment quality based on the principles of comparison of the actual state with a set of environmentally and technically acceptable conditions (ETAC) are considered. The method of assessing the ecological potential of the water technoecosystems by the example of NPP technoecosystems is proposed.

The accumulation of the biologically valuable substances (proteins, carbohydrates and lipids) in the cells of green algae (Selenastrum gracile, Desmodesmus brasiliensis and Scenedesmus obtusus) was studied during their growth under different lighting conditions and the length of the photoperiod. It was found that the considered Chlorophyta species are characterized by individual reaction of their cells to different illumination intensity and light/dark regime.
