A novel approach to design of planar diffraction radiation antennas with controllable beam swinging has been suggested and implemented in a laboratory mock-up. A planar dielectric waveguide on a metal substrate is first used in the capacity of the open line supporting surface wave propagation, while the beamforming structure is represented by a rotary semitransparent two-dimensionally periodic grating.

Strong cryptography of stream ciphers is determined, among other things, by the ability of a generated pseudorandom sequence to resist analytical attacks. One of the main components of the pseudorandom stream cipher sequence generating algorithm are Boolean functions for combining and filtering. The paper considers the possibility of applying nonlinear-feedback shift registers that generate a maximum length sequence as a combining or filtering function. This work examines the main indicators of cryptographic strength of such functions, as: balance, the prohibitions presence, correlation immunity and nonlinearity. The study analyzes and demonstrates correlation experimental immunity and nonlinearity values for all nonlinear feedback shift registers, that generate a maximum length sequence, for register sizes up to 6 cells inclusively, and registers sizes up to 9 cells inclusively with algebraic degree of the polynomial under 2. The possibility of optimizing the process of selecting the Boolean functions according to the criteria of maximum correlation immunity and nonlinearity with various algebraic degree and minimization of the number of monomials in the polynomial are studied.

Proposed Data exchange model that combines MQTT and Modbus, is based on the Observer pattern to organize interaction between the system components in the Internet of Things concept. Modbus is used as the local interface for interacting with devices and MQTT is responsible for organization of global connections between the components of the system. In this case, Internet gateways support both protocols that ensure the stability of the systems. The QoS of MQTT were investigated, their main advantages and disadvantages were determined. The QoS 2 of MQTT, which uses the four-step verification procedure for message delivery was selected.
The smart device emulator and the system prototype in the Internet of Things concept were developed. The proposed Data exchange model was compared to HTPPS in 3G and Wi-Fi networks. The research results showed that the bandwidth of the HTTPS protocol is 93 times smaller than the proposed combination of MQTT and Modbus protocols. Using the second level of quality, the MQTT protocol ensures 100% delivery of messages, unlike the HTTPS protocol, that delivers from 20% to 50% of all messages.

Heuristic methods of gradient search of the cryptographic Boolean functions that satisfy the required properties of balance, nonlinearity, autocorrelation, and other stability indicators are considered. The proposed method of gradient descent is investigated, in particular, estimates of nonlinearity and correlation immunity of the synthesized Boolean functions are given. A method for evaluating the computational efficiency of gradient search methods is proposed, based on the construction of sample (empirical) distribution functions, which characterize the probability of the formation of the Boolean functions with persistence indicators not lower than those required. As an indicator of computational efficiency, we propose the average number of attempts that need to be performed using the heuristic method to form a cryptographic Boolean function with the required properties. It is shown that the proposed gradient descent method allows the formation of cryptographic functions with the required durability indicators in fewer steps. The results of investigations of the cryptographic properties of the formed Boolean functions in comparison with the best known assessments are given.

A simulation model of a terahertz pulsed ultra-wideband communication line with a detailed description of its main components is presented. The results of the study of the essence of the change in the temporal shape (i.e., distortion) of the IR-UWB signal of a picoseconds duration at its transmission via an idealized model in the THz band (from 110 to 170 GHz) with known parameters are given. For this purpose, simulation was carried out of a terahertz pulse radio communication system of the "point-to-point" type. If necessary, on the basis of the obtained research results, it is possible to formulate the requirements for the parameters of a THz radio link that will be designed, which provide an acceptable level of distortion. The Visual System Simulator software AWR Microwave Office ver.12 by National Instruments, which has a convenient interface and the necessary functionality for conducting low frequency/high frequency/superhigh frequency studies at the circuit diagram and system engineering levels, was chosen as the simulation environment. An idealized simulation model of a THz radio link is built on the basis of the parameters and block diagram of the layout of the experimental model of the THz transceiver developed by the authors [1-9,17-19]. The results of the study on the transmission of a UWB signal of picoseconds duration through an idealized radio channel model of the terahertz channel from 110 to 140 GHz show that the main type of distortion of the temporal pulse shape is its expansion from the initial duration of 140 ps to 250 ps, which is primarily due to the limitation of the bandwidth in the low pass filter and bandpass filters of the transmitting and receiving paths.

This paper presents a review of methods used for improving the reliability of remote control electronic equipment operation in the hard radiation environments. Analysis of the remote control application features under such extreme conditions has been performed. Probable failure modes are described. Possible ways of preventing the failures are proposed.
