Superwide-Band Signal Distortion Caused by Linear Dipole Antennas
ABSTRACT
An analysis has been made of the causes responsible for the distortion of the shape and the spectrum of superwide-band signals by thin dipole antennas. It is shown that the antenna pattern (AP) and energy characteristics of transmit-reseive dipole antennas have influence on the distortion as a function of the angular observation-point coordinates and frequency. The relationship between the dipole-antenna transfer function and the dipole electric length has been studied. This relationship is of oscillatory nature that may vary for different directions to an observation point.
