Absorption of Waves by a Grating Filled with a Metamaterial with a Negative Dielectric Constant
ABSTRACT
Theoretical results are presented concerning electromagnetic properties of a reflective diffraction grating filled with a medium characterized by a negative-valued dielectric constant. The effect of resonance absorption by this structure of the exciting electromagnetic energy has been analyzed over a broad range of parameter variation. The effect of splitting of the absorption resonances is demonstrated for the case of oblique incidence of a plane wave upon the structure.
