ABSTRACT

A graded-phase-mirror-based technique is suggested for producing uniformly intensity-distributed output beams in a generalized confocal cavity. The optimum cavity geometry and graded-phase mirror profile for such beamforming have been determined from numerical investigations of the characteristics of the even-symmetric lowest-loss modes.
