DIFFRACTION OF H-POLARIZED ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES BY A MULTI-ELEMENT PLANAR SEMI-INFINITE GRATING

ABSTRACT

The problem of H-polarized wave diffraction by multi-element planar semi-infinite periodic strip grating is considered. The problem is reduced to a nonlinear operator equation with respect to the unknown reflection operator of the grating. The equation is obtained through solving an auxiliary of wave diffraction by a semi-infinite periodic strip grating of the venetian blind-type grating with the strips being located within parallel planes. Dependences of the reflection factor of plane waves for one, two, three and four strips per period are presented and near- and far-field distribution are analyzed.
