A Constructive Approach to Construction of Local Equations of Irregular Dispersion and Evolution of Fields in a Quasi-Homogeneous Electrodynamic Structure

Vasilii Vasilyevich Yatsyk
Cand. Sci. (Phys.-Math.), Senior Researcher at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of the NAS of Ukraine

ABSTRACT

By the example of an elementary electrodynamic structure (a linear transversely inhomogeneous dielectric layer) a constructive approach to construction of boundary space-time evolution theory of dispersion in the vicinity of the critical points of spectrum is demonstrated. The foundation of this approach have been laid mainly owing to the brilliant physical intuition of V. P. Shestopalov. Apparently, he was the first who had seen the significance of the intermode interaction of eigenfields and who made great efforts to launching investigations in this area. The work has been prepared in memory of the outstanding scientist, V. P. Shestopalov, academician of the Ukraine National Academy of Sciences.
