PROCESSING RCS DISTRIBUTION FOR COMPLEX SHAPE OBJECTS
ABSTRACT
Calculation of the radar instability of complex shape object with the help of statistical processing of RCS calculations (measurements) is discussed. To obtain the object detection probability the RCS distribution must be approximated with some probability density function. In the literature one can find a lot of such approximations but some unique approach is absent. In this paper different capabilities of the RCS distribution approximation were discussed for on-ground object. In this case the back scattering pattern has many sharp peaks for some observation angles. It is proved that the sum of delta-function and splines are the RCS approximations in such case.
