ABSTRACT

A 3D full-wave model of a diffraction radiation antenna is analyzed by the method of exact absorbing conditions considering all features of the processes under study. The obtained results confirm the conclusion about the possibility of developing a fast-scanning antenna involving the effect of conversion of a surface wave of a dielectric waveguide into a spatial mode radiated in free space. This conclusion has been drawn earlier based on the results of computer simulations of a 2D electrodynamic model.
