Investigations of the Fields in a Bounded Planar Dielectric Waveguide

ABSTRACT

Transverse and longitudinal field distributions in the bounded planar dielectric waveguide have been studied. The results of the research allow to draw a conclusion about the availability of electrodynamic system in the form of width-bounded dielectric waveguide (width consists of several tens of wavelengths) for diffraction grating excitation as well as for channeling of electromagnetic field of millimeter wave band at the distance of more than 200 wavelengths.
