ABSTRACT

Paper deals with SDS-electrophoresis of proteins of the crucian carp Carassius auratus, taken in winter, spring and summer and kept at different temperature. It was stated that after keeping "winter" fish at 5°C for 2 weeks content of 205 kDa protein significantly decreased in red muscles and myocardium; and content of 172 kDa protein decreased in liver. In white muscles of the deacclimated fish decreased content of 105 and 15 kDa proteins. Protein composition of tissues of the "summer" and "winter" animals almost did not differ. Protein spectra of the crucian carp tissues depends not only on temperature, but on season as well, because in the "spring" fish, in spite of low water temperature, only in red muscles 205 kDa protein was found, peculiar for "winter" fish. Protein spectra of myocardium and liver did not differ from those of the "summer" fish. Cold acclimation for 2 weeks in summer season did not effect protein composition of skeletal muscle, myocardium and liver tissues.
